TEXARKANA 38, WATSON CHAPEL 14

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — Dennis Johnson scored five touchdown to lead top-ranked Texarkana to a 38-14 victory over Watson Chapel Friday night.

Johnson led the Hogs’ (7-0-1) rushing attack with 270 yards on 21 attempts. Texarkana finished with 365 rushing yards and 7 yards passing. Watson Chapel managed just 177 yards.

With the win, the Razorbacks extended their unbeaten streak to 18 games.

Johnson scored on runs of 6, 28, 38, 28 and 47 yards. Roderick Rose scored the other touchdown on a short run.

Watson Chapel (2-6) scored two late touchdowns. Gordon Johnson scored on a 1-yard run and passed to Cornelius Christopher for a 4-yard TD to make it 38-14 with 2:15. Johnson finished with 65 rushing yards on 16 attempts, and completed 11 of his 22 attempts for 112 yards with a touchdown.

WEST MEMPHIS 40, MOUNTAIN HOME 7

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) — Terry Edwards ran for three touchdowns to lead the No. 4 West Memphis to a 40-7 victory over the Mountain Home.

West Memphis (7-1) jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the game on a 3-yard touchdown run by Kevin Moore, a 28-yard field goal by Paulo Henriques and a 7-yard scoring jaunt by Edwards.

Mountain Home (1-6-1) became the first 6A-East Conference team to score on the Blue Devils when Bomber running back Zach Hawthorne scored on a 25-yard run to help cut the gap to 17-7.

Henriques put West Memphis up 20-7 at the half with a 51-yard field goal with no time on the clock.

West Memphis silenced Mountain Home through the second half and picked up touchdown runs of 34 and 3 yards by Edwards and a 30-yard scoring run by Josh Wilson for the 40-7 finale.

LAKE HAMILTON 38, EL DORADO 7

EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) — Phillip Butterfield ran for two touchdowns and passed for another to lead No. 5 Lake Hamilton to a 38-7 victory Friday night over El Dorado.

Butterfield completed 15-of-27 passes for 254 yards as the Wolves (8-0) took advantage of a pair of El Dorado turnovers to build a 28-7 halftime lead.

David Church scored on a 2-yard run to give Lake Hamilton the lead and Cole Lorigan added a 20-yard touchdown run.

For the Wildcats (4-4), Dexter Toney scored El Dorado’s sole touchdown on a 16-yard run to trim the margin to 14-7.

Butterfield added scoring runs of 2 and 1 yards as the Wolves took a 28-7 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Butterfield hit Josh Proffitt on a 48-yard scoring pass. Jordan Gay, who was perfect on five extra point kicks, ended the scoring with a 31-yard field goal.

Proffitt caught five passes for 131 yards.

El Dorado was held to 94 yards rushing and 63 yards passing.

FORREST CITY 51, JACKSONVILLE 15

Barrett Ashton had four touchdown passes to lead Forrest City (6-2, 4-1 6A-East) past host Jacksonville (3-5, 2-3).

Ashton hit Barrett Bashears with a 63-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and then passed 16 yards to Zach Hoskins in the second quarter for another score. In the fourth quarter, he had touchdown passes of 36 and 40 yards to Joe DeWitt.

Also in the fourth quarter for Forrest City, Leonard Banks and Lee Smith each had a 45-yard punt return for a touchdown. Forrest City scored 28 points in the fourth quarter.

Xavier Jones also had a 5-yard touchdown run for Forrest City.

Patrick Geams caught a 35-yard touchdown pass for Jacksonville.
