Bible Belt Blogger: Wanted -- The Friendliest Church in Kentucky

If you've been to the friendliest church in Kentucky, please let me know. If you attend the friendliest temple, mosque or synagogue in the Bluegrass State, tell me about it.

If you've found a great place to worship, this is your chance to tell the world. (Well, not exactly the world, but roughly 1,000 visitors per week.)

P.S If you've visited a place that was major-league unfriendly, feel free to share that experience as well.

Apostles Anglican Church that meets at Veteran's Park Elementary in Lexington is one of the friendliest churches I've ever visited. Everyone truly makes you feel welcome and they have a time of fellowship with snacks and coffee after service. No one rushes out the door. The minister, Martin Gornick is very warm and friendly, and leads a great service in a very casual, but moving atmosphere. I've visited there several times and really enjoyed it.

First Baptist Church of Hazard, Ky defines friendly. People are welcomed each service to a friendly, energetic atmosphere that challenges people to grow together. For proof of the friedliness of First Baptist Hazard I offer a recent softball game as an example. Throughout the night, not a single call by the umpire was challenged. The Bible says laughter is the best medicine. It can cure any church that has a cold atmosphere.
