Batty

My schedule's getting fuller now with no sign of letting up until after the wedding. Showers, formal portraits, family visits and smoothing over the final wrinkles of planning will keep me busy, but no doubt I'll still squeeze in time to be nervous.

Even the beautiful bridal shower Saturday caused me anxiety. What if I oversleep for my own shower? What if we get mangled in a wreck on the way? What if my fiance, who went to the driving range during the party, gets knocked upside the head by a stray ball? What if I violate some vital rule of bridal etiquette? What if I forgot to invite someone I love? What if I spill punch and ruin my hostess' carpet?
I came up with the crazier scenarios because I lingered too long in bed that morning. My imagination always gets away from me when I lay awake.
Of course none of those dreadful things happened. In fact, I had a lot of fun and saw people dear to me whom I hadn't properly visited with in years. The day was a preview of springtime; the food was great; the advice I got invaluable; and I even brought home a beautiful bouquet of Gerber daisies.
Simply, I drove myself batty for no reason. Now, how not to be a batty bride on the wedding day...
