It is hard to believe the 39th Brigade left Arkansas seven months ago for Camp Shelby, Miss. It's even harder to believe this group is halfway through its Iraq tour. But it's true. It doesn't matter what dealt the fatal blow, whether it was a bomb, bullet or heart attack. Death in war leaves buddies devastated, lost, hurt. I've seen the tears shed by those who lost buddies to all of those events and they all roll down cheeks in the same painful way. The loss of a friend is a blow to the gut.
