LITTLE ROCK — The big decisions have been finalized - the trainer, the date, the location and ticket prices.
All that’s left is the boxing.
Jermain Taylor held a news conference Tuesday in Ozell Nelson’s Arkansas Boxing Club gym in Little Rock to discuss and make final the decision to have Nelson replace Emanuel Steward as the former middleweight champion’s lead trainer for Taylor’s rematch with Kelly Pavlik.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette also confirmed later Tuesday afternoon that the Taylor-Pavlik fight will take place Feb. 16 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Bob Arum, Pavlik’s promoter, said tickets for the fight, which is expected to be one of the most-anticipated of 2008, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through Ticketmaster. Prices are $600, $400, $300, $200 and $100.
