— 1. Whack. For Hendrix’s final home lacrosse game of the season, thecollege is offering an evening of family activities at Friday Night Stix, 4:30-9:30 p.m. today. Inflatable games, face painting, lacrosse and field hockey demonstrations and dinner are planned before the 7 p.m. game. Afterward, there will be a 15-minute fireworks display. Admission is free. Activities will take place behind the new Hendrix Wellness and Athletics Center across Harkrider Street from the main campus in Conway. Call (501) 450-1462.

2. Park it. It’s time to spruce up the past. Prairie Grove Battlefield StatePark in Washington County and Historic Washington State Park in Hempstead County are taking part in national Park Day. Sponsored by the Civil War Preservation Trust, the History Channel and Take Pride in America, this day is set aside for history buffs and other volunteers to clean and improve historic sites. Show up prepared to work and help preserve the past. Both free events start at 9 a.m. Saturday. Call Prairie Grove at (479) 846-2990 or Washington at (870) 983-2684.

3. Be dazzled. Enjoy an evening of mystery and magic as Arkansas’Masters of Illusion present The Magic of Spring at Easy Street Cabaret, Seventh and Center streets, 7 p.m.

4. Climb aboard. Train enthusiasts can have a ball at the RailroadianaShow and Sale, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Arkansas Railroad Museum, 1700 Port Road, Pine Bluff. Visitors can shop for railroad and model items at the vendor booths, explore the historic building and artifacts, and have fun watching the active model train displays. Admission is $5, $2 for children ages 6-12. Call (870) 535-8819.

5. Read. Halana’s Psychic Fair celebrates its 20th anniversary witha variety of activities including aura readings, hypnotherapy, massages, presentations and lectures. Vendors will also be selling items such as sage sticks and hand-crafted pottery. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

6. Examine. Take an evening stroll through downtown Hot Springs andenjoy the art and music during the Spa City’s monthly Gallery Walk. Downtown galleries keep their doors open5-9 p.m. today with exhibits and receptions for exhibits such as the Student Artist Book Exhibit at the “artchurch” or “My Own Road” by Matt McLeod at the Blue Moon Gallery. 7. Think small. If you want to feel a bit like Gulliver on his travels, stopby Pulaski Technical College to view the hundreds of miniature cars, planes and boats in the Arkansas Model Car Championships, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Saturday. Model entry is $5 for the first model and $2 for each additional entry. Watching is free, and the first 100 children 6-13 will receive a model to make and take home. The event will be held in the Campus Center Grand Hall, 3000 W. Scenic Drive, North Little Rock. Call (501) 985-0808.

8. String it along. The Blair String Quartet will provide the music atthe latest Bechstein Hall Concert, 7:30 p.m. today at Boulevard Bread Co. in the River Market. The program will include works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky. Tickets are $30. Visit www.bechsteinhall.org or call (501) 529-1010.

9. Screen it. The Ozark Foothills FilmFest wraps things up Saturday with showings at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Dickinson Hall.

“Louis Jordan: The Early Years,” with Beware and Caldonia, starts at 1 p.m. and Arkansongs producer Stephen Koch and film historian Ben Fry will attend. “Louis Jordan in Hollywood” follows at 3 with excerpts from Three Cheers for the Boys and Swing Parade of 1946 and appearances by Koch and film historian Bob Pest. At the Central High School National Historic Site, park rangers will show the film Citizen King in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. The film starts at 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. Call (501) 374-1957.

10. Bloom and grow. Orchids from all over will be available foradmiring and buying at the Arkansas Orchid Society Show and Sale. Sale hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday at Second Presbyterian Church, Interstate 430 and Cantrell Road. The show opens to the public at noon Saturday. Admission is free.
