New family physician appointed at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE - Dr. Sarah L. Sullivan, a board-certified family-practice physician who has been appointed to the medical staff at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center, recently began practicing at the Mercy Medical Clinic, 903 DeSoto Blvd.

Sullivan spentmore than eight years serving on the medical staff of Stone County Medical Center and practicing at the Irvin-Dibrell Medical Clinic, both in Mountain View.

She is a former vice president for the Mid-Ohio Valley AIDS Task Force, served as volunteer medical director for the Stone County MedicalCenter Hospice and worked in the Emergency Department of White River Medical Center -a sister White River Health System facility in Batesville.

Sullivan secured her medical degree in 1997 and completed her family medicine residency in 2000, both at the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va.

Prior to that, the Monticello native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Henderson State University (1981) and a doctorate degree in chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. (1990).
