TEXARKANA, Ark. — A Texarkana man remains jailed on suspicion of capital murder after his mother and stepfather were found bludgeoned to death.
Bronson Scoggins made his first appearance Monday in Miller County Circuit Court. He is accused in the deaths of Sandra and Albert Walsh, who were found dead in their Texarkana home on Friday.
Police say officers responded to a 911 call that led them to the family’s home, where Albert Walsh was apparently killed as he sat in a chair. Police say Sandra Walsh was found in a hallway, and that Scoggins was standing outside the home with blood on his clothing.
Police say both victims suffered blunt-force trauma and stab wounds from a knife and an ax handle. Authorities say they are now looking into Scoggins’ medical records and are trying to determine a motive.
