Driver-safety course

SEARCY — Prime Times of the White County Medical Center is sponsoring an AARP Driver Safety course at 8:30 a.m. in the Hubach Center on the first floor. The class will be four hours, and the cost is $10. For more information or to register, call (501) 380-1053.

Library story time

SEARCY — The White County Regional Library System has announced the schedule for story time. On Monday, it will be at 9:30 a.m. at Baldwin. On Tuesday it will at be at 10 a.m. at Beebe and at 2 p.m. at Home School. On Wednesday, story time will be at 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. at Searcy, Bradford and Bald Knob, respectively. The times are the same on Thursday, but the locations are then Searcy, Pangburn and Rose Bud.

Care Caps for kids

HEBER SPRINGS —Care Caps for kids will be sewing caps from noon until 4 p.m. at First electric Building on Industrial Road in Heber Springs. The caps are sewn by volunteers and machines, and materials are provided. Volunteers who can’t sew are still needed as the caps will need to be cut, pinned, ironed and packaged. Deadline to RSVP

CABOT — The deadline to RSVP for the Cabot Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet is at 4:30 p.m. The banquet will be Friday, Jan. 18, with a reception starting at 6 p.m. and dinner being served at 7. The banquet will be held at the Veterans Park Community Center, and Gov. Mike Beebe will be the speaker. For more information or to RSVP, call (501) 843-2136.

Wednesday

Spring registration

BATESVILLE — The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville will hold spring registration from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Testing will also be available for those students who need placement scores. The COMPASS will be given from 8-11 a.m. The computerized test takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete. Appointments are not necessary. The test will in Room 217 in the Main Classroom Building. The ASSET test will be given at 2 p.m. This test will take students about 2 1/2 hours to complete and will take place in MCB, Room 222. The first day of regular classes will be Monday, Jan. 14, and online classes will begin Thursday, Jan. 17. Two Online Student Orientation sessions will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The sessions will take place in MCB 217.

Ducks Unlimited Banquet
