Steven Edward Sanderson

Preserving nature is vital to Steve Sanderson, president of the Wildlife Conservation Society. This UCA alumnus sets a vigorous pace for his staff in New York and worldwide.

"One way to do it is to really make it invigorating for people to see these spectacular animals, so our idea of the zoo is that the animals really are ambassadors for their cousins in the wild.

CONWAY — As the University of Central Arkansas class of 2008 prepared to accept its diplomas this spring, Steve Sanderson became the school’s 23rd distinguished alumnus. The 1971 history major now lives in New York and is president and chief executive officer of the Wildlife Conservation Society.
