— Phyllis Ring is retiring from the Morrilton Medical Clinic after more than 30 years as licensed practical nurse.

“I loved my job, but I really wanted to spend more time with my family and my church,” Ring said.

She graduated as a nurse in 1975 from Petit Jean Vo-Tech, which is now University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. She began her career at the Conway Human Development Center, and in1982 she joined St. Anthony’s Medical Center where she worked for 19 years, primarily in the emergency department. In July 2000, she joined Morrilton Medical Clinic and later became the primary nurse for Dr. Robert Wilkerson.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Phyllis for the past eight years. She has been reliable, loyal, and a joy to work with. She has been a great asset to the community and has always been concerned with the care of our patients at Morrilton Medical Clinic,” Wilkerson said.

The employees of Morrilton Medical Clinic recognized her many years of service with a surprise retirement party. Also in attendance were members of Ring’s family and employees of St. Anthony’s who gathered to honor her dedication to health care.

Ring is married to Carl Ring and they have one daughter, Cindy Gottsponer, a son-in-law Danny Gottsponer and three grandchildren. She attends First Church of the Nazarene.
