Cabot police officer shoots man
The Associated Press
Officials say a Cabot police officer shot a man who attacked her after arriving at the scene of a domestic abuse call.
Cabot police Sgt. Brent Lucas told the Cabot Star-Herald the unnamed five-year veteran shot the man just before 12 p.m. Sunday. The officer was “jumped” by the man, who choked her and tried to grab her gun during a struggle, Lucas said.
Lucas said two witnesses pulled the man away, but he went at the officer again, who fired twice at him.
Lucas said the man, whom he declined to identify, was transported to Jacksonville hospital where his condition is unknown.
