Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Monday it has expanded its generic prescription drug program to cover a 90-day supply of about 350 drugs for $10. The company launched its low-cost drug program in 2006 with 30-day supplies of some generic drugs for $4.

Wal-Mart also is lowering the cost of some women’s medications, such as a generic version of the osteoporosis drug Fosamax, to $9 for a 30-day supply or $24 for a 90-day supply.

In addition, the company has cut the price of its Equate-brand versions of over-the-counter drugs such as Zantac and Claritin to $4.
