HOPE — Authorities in Hope say an 18-year-old man was shot and killed after a dispute that started in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant.
Authorities say Steve Lynn Dean Jr. died early Saturday. Police say a group of people had gathered outside the restaurant, then agreed to meet at a different location to fight.
As the people were driving to the new location, several vehicles in the caravan were involved in a wreck. Authorities say one driver, 21-year-old Josh Brown, allegedly got out of his truck and started firing a shotgun in the air.
Dean was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at a hospital in Hope.
Three people suffered minor injuries from the shotgun pellets, and another was hurt in the car wreck, according to authorities. Brown was arrested by Arkansas State Police in a wooded area nearby. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
