Henderson Theatre to present The Miracle Worker

ARKADELPHIA - Henderson State University Theatre
will present seven performances of The Miracle Worker by Wil
liam Gibson at 7:30 p.m. today, Friday, Saturday and Monday
and Thursday, Dec. 4, Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6.
A reception will follow the opening night performance.
The Miracle Worker won six Tony Awards when it premiered
on Broadway in 1959. Twenty-year-old Annie Sullivan sets
out to do what the experts of the age could not - teach
language to a deaf and blind child, Helen Keller, who does
not even know what a word is.
The cast of The Miracle Worker features Hillary Bell of
Benton, Sarah Burns of Hot Springs, Emily Kirk of Benton,
Marcus Perez of Gentry, Justin Slaughter of Arkadelphia,
Seth Wylie of Leola and Belinda Yegela of Arkadelphia. As
sociate professor of music William Higgins makes a guest
appearance as Captain Keller.
The play is under the direction of Claudia Beach, Hen
derson’s director of theatre.
The Theatre Box Office in Arkansas Hall is open for
advance ticket sales from 1- 4 p.m. All seats are reserved.
Admission is $6, or free with an HSU student ID, courtesy
of the Student Activities Board.
