— The Maybelles will perform at the Ozark Folk Center Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The band is composed of Jan Bell on guitar, Melissa Carper on bass and Katy Rose Cox on violin. The band features classic and selfwritten songs.

The Maybelles began when Carper and Bell met during the Ozark Folk Festival. They set up to play outside the New Orleans Hotel in Eureka Springs and decided to travel up to the Walnut Valley Folk Festival in Winfield, Kan.

The Maybelles have had the honor of opening for several living legends. In Eureka Springs, they opened for Emmylou Harris and joined Mary Fly when she opened for Ray Charles and his orchestra.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 12 and children under 6 get in free. Season passes will be honored for this event.
