— A mother and her son face a felony charge of manufacturing methamphetamine after members of a drug task force found at the son’s home paraphernalia used to make the illegal drug.

Michael Shane Smith, 39, was arrested Wednesday. His mother, Sharon Gilmore, 56, was arrested Aug. 30.

While probation officers were checking on Gilmore Aug. 29, they found a gallon jug of muriatic acid, ether and tubing inside a shop next to the residence. Outside they found ammonium nitrate and anhydrous ammonia condense.

Other material, including pseudoephedrine tablets, denatured alcohol and tubing were found in a camper and a vehicle on the property.

Gilmore said the material probably belonged to the son but that the residence belonged to her.
