Horseshoe Bend to host LPGA event

HORSESHOE BEND — The Legends Tour, the official senior tour of the LPGA, will make a stop at The Golf Course on Turkey Mountain Sunday, Sept. 29, and Monday, Sept. 30.
Twenty legends of the LPGA will take part in the charity Pro-Am, which will mark the second time the LPGA has had an event in the state in the last 50 years.
Among those scheduled to compete are Jan Stephenson, Amy Alcott, Pat Bradley, Cindy Rarick, Cindy Miller, Jane Blaylock, Rosie Jones, Kathy Whitworth and more Hall of Fame inductees.
In addition to the Pro-Am, a community clinic will be held at the course showcasing the swings of various Legends of Tour professionals.
The Legends Pro-Am will be the culminating event of a community weekend in Horseshoe Bend. Activities designed for families and area residents will fill the last weekend of September with the tournament being the finale on Monday, Sept. 30.
