McCain move raises Democratic senators’ eyebrows

WASHINGTON — Democratic senators emerging from an hour-long meeting with U.S. Treasury Sec. Henry Paulson in the Capitol Wednesday evening reacted coolly to Sen. John McCain’s announcement that had suspended his presidential campaign to return to Washington to work on a cure for the country’s market ills.
