OXFORD, Miss. — In their first side-by-side tussle, Barack Obama on Friday called the country’s reeling economy “the final verdict” of anti-regulation policies championed by President Bush and John Mc-Cain, his Republican rival. Mc-Cain, in turn, vowed to attack the problem by cutting federal earmarks and cracking down on corporate greed.
