Police said Kent Thomas Crigler, 49, of Fayetteville died at Washington Regional Medical Center after he was brought to the hospital by an unidentified woman about 2:30 p.m.

Terry Don Lankford, 36, and Cheyenne Cody Shinault, 29, both of Fayetteville, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in Crigler’s death.

Police said the three men apparently were in a fight outside an apartment building. Police did not provide details on a motive.

Police Sgt. Bill Phelan said that acting on witness statements, police found Lankford and Shinault in a truck. Lankford tried to run after police stopped the truck, but he was caught after a foot chase, Phelan said.
