FAYETTEVILLE — Chris Bucknam, hired as Arkansas’ cross country and track and field head coach on June 27, has completed his staff with the addition of Doug Case, it was announced Monday.
Case, who will coach sprinters and pole vaulters for the Razorbacks, coached with Bucknam at Northern Iowa the previous nine years and also was an assistant at Arkansas State (1990-1997) and Drake (1998-1999).
Bucknam retained Arkansas field events coach Dick Booth and director of operations Danny Green from predecessor John McDonnell’s staff.
Case is replacing Kyle White, a former Razorback who was Arkansas’ sprints and hurdlers coach the past two years.
Case also competed for Bucknam as a sprinter at Northern Iowa before going into coaching.
“He is a very talented coach and recruiter,” Bucknam said in a news release. “I’m very excited Doug and his family have decided to come to Fayetteville.”
During Case’s tenure at Northern Iowa, his sprinters and vaulters earned 35 All-America honors, including Jacob Pauli’s pole vault title at the 2007 NCAA Indoor Championships.
