Golf: UA’s Ingram wins twice

— University of Arkansas junior Kristin Ingram won two matches Thursday to advance at the 108th Women’s Western Amateur Championship at Canongate at Summer Grove Golf Club in Newnan, Ga.

Ingram moved into the round of 32 Thursday morning defeating Athens, Ga., native Leigh Crosby in 19 holes. She faced 14-year-old star and stroke play medalist Dottie Ardina of Laguna, Philippines, in the afternoon, winning 3 and 1.

Ingram advanced to today’s quarterfinals against Mary Narzisi of Omaha, Neb.

The winner moves on to the semifinals later in the day with a 36-hole final match scheduled for Saturday.

Lady Razorback teammate junior Tiffany Phelps of McKinney, Texas, was eliminated by Emily Johnson of Winona Lake, Ind., in 20 holes, in first flight action.
